Devlog - A Hex-Globe Rework Incoming


The last few months I have been wracking my brain trying to figure out how to make the cohesiveness of going from globe view to country view. The answer is pretty obviously skip the country view all together, and let the player move freely around. Still having hexes belong to specific countries, but make the movement as fast as the player can bear.

What this required was building a sphere of hexes. Which sounds easy enough, meshes are made of triangles, right? Turns out no, it's a bit more complicated then that... Well I eventually got it to work, the very bare bones.

I am going to see what it is going to take to get it implemented into the game. It will likely require a lot of reworking most systems, but will be worth it in the end.
