Dev Diary 18 - Power Generation

It wouldn't be a simulation game without some sort of power generation. In this game nearly every building uses electricity to function. Each building has its own rate of usage, and it is multiplied with the building's level as the game progresses.

To mitigate some of that cost, you can build a power plant. A maximum of 1 per country.

You as the player have only 3 options per country for which type of power plant you can build. This is based on real life power plants. Specifically, what power source each country is most reliant upon. (The top 3, anyway)

Some countries rely more on renewable energy, while others will require fossil fuels to run. Here are the power plants that are currently in the game, along with their fuel requirements:

-Coal - 10,000 tons/day (Coal)

-Geothermal - None

-Hydro - None

-Lignite - 12,000 tons/day (Lignite)

-Natural Gas - 3000 tons/day (Natural Gas)

-Nuclear - 0.07 tons/day (Uranium ore, this because there is no uranium refinement in the game yet,)

-Oil - 5000 tons/day (Crude Oil)

-Solar - None

-Wind - None

Any one of these power plants are going to more than power all of your buildings in your country (probably), and any excess can be sold to the local government for the going rate. (This does not require a manager, this just happens automatically as there is no power storage in the game.)

If was for this reason that I had to limit each country to just one power plant. Otherwise you could just fill up every tile and print money.
