Dev Diary 8 - Library
The library was the 3rd feature I added to Factory Default: BTR, and the point was to make it easy to sift through items and their supply chains.
The layout was inspired by Satisfactory's item information menu. Categories on the left, items in the middle, and full info on the right, taking up most of the space.
Every entry in the library will show the item name, as well as it's description.
After that it will tell you what research needs to be complete before you can produce that item.
It will also show you the global market price (which is just an average of every country's price).
If it is a raw resource, crop, or livestock it will tell you what countries have fertility in that item. (You can click on the country's flag to quickly navigate to it.)
After that, you will see the recipe that is used to make it. (For some animal products, there is more than one recipe. Like eggs can come from Chickens, Ducks, Ostriches, and Turkeys)
Assuming I did everything right, if you see a logo for an item in the game, you should be able to click it to bring you to the library. (Other than the icons that float up from buildings showing what they are producing every day, that is just a 2D partial emitter.)
