Welcome to Factory Default: Build, Trade, Repeat!

In Factory Default: Build, Trade, Repeat, you will develop a worldwide conglomerate where you control the entire production chain. Starting from mining and farming resources, all the way to selling factory-made merchandise to the strategic market of your choice. And everything in between!

Scout and exploit various countries' natural resources, workforce demands, and local markets to sell your goods. Mine copper in South Africa, refine it in China, make circuit boards in South Korea, and sell them in Canada. All this and more is possible in Factory Default: Build, Trade, Repeat.

My favorite games to play, which served as inspiration for some of the mechanics:

Anno 1800, Satisfactory, Dyson Sphere Program, Cities Skylines, Farming Simulator 25, Pretty much any mobile "Idle" Game. I enjoy the production-chain aspect of games, but not so much the tedium of setting up conveyor belts.

This actually started as me trying to create a game similar to Adventure Capitalist, but things got out of hand...

You can play this fast paced, making as much money as possible as quickly as possible, or you can more methodically build your production chains and play it more like an "Idle" Game.

Some key features:

  • 35 Countries to explore and exploit (Now including Angola, Chad, Niger, Mongolia & Peru!)
  • Over 400+ Items to mine, farm, refine, manufacture, and trade
  • NEW! World Auctions: Outbid your competitors for valuable cargo.
  • Influence System: Gain a strategic edge in different nations.
  • Management System: Hire and manage employees for your facilities.
  • Research Tree: Unlock new technologies and production capabilities.
  • Dynamic Market: Prices fluctuate daily – buy low, sell high!
  • Comprehensive Finance Table: Track profits, expenses, take out loans, and manage company shares.
  • News Feed: Stay informed with important game notifications.
  • Simple Objectives: Get guided through the core mechanics.

This is just the beginning. More countries, items, production chains, and features to come!

Here is a gameplay tour of the game:

Very in-depth Godot build!, came across this while I was looking for Godot resources. Any chance you will be publishing the code or Github repo for learning?

Thanks for taking a look!

Currently, I don't have any plans for that. Code is not my strongsuit, so I'm a bit self conscious for people to see it. However, if there was interest in a specific aspect of my game, I wouldn't be opposed to making a tutorial. Something along the lines of "A Novice's guide to [blank] in Godot". Not sure there would be much audience for that.

Do you have a discord? Mine is n8thegreat, I'd love to talk to you some more in some specific problems I'm having that I'm sure you've implemented.

Interesting economy game, quite deep.

Thank you!

Looks cool! Will there be a linux version too? Is this made with godot as well?

This is made in Godot 4.3. I don't have any current plans for release for linux.

Cool about godot! If you change your mind and hit that export button and want a tester, :)
